There is no ‘I’ in Team. To be a success, team members need to work well together. Teams require maintenance and tuning – even those that are functioning well. When teams are not going so well, they must ask the question: Why not? How are members behaving towards each other? Are they all heading in the same direction? Are they all working with their strengths and giving to the whole?
How does team facilitation work?
A team facilitator stands apart from the team dynamics. They create an environment where team members are able to be open and honest about what is going on. The facilitator will ask probing in-depth questions about the team’s workings. Team sessions are a time to pause, to reflect, to bring issues into the open, to talk through and resolve these and to assist team members to work out how to enhance their team functioning.
